Accepting clients in person in Hiddenite, NC, and across North Carolina through HIPAA compliant teletherapy.

Life can be hard and some days are more difficult than others. We could all use a little help with every day stressors, major life changes and transitions or struggles with mental health or substance abuse issues. Therapy could be the answer to finding your inner strength and peace again. We are all products of our environment and have a story to tell; a path that directed us to where we are now. I believe we obtain the power to heal ourselves by using our experiences as an opportunity to learn, grow and overcome life’s obstacles and everyone should have access to a safe and healthy environment to explore and heal from our hurts, habits and hang-ups.

I graduated from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary with a Master’s in Christian Counseling, am certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors and am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist. Working with a diverse population of adults, I utilized multiple evidence based therapies centered on what is best for the client. I incorporate Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy and practices based in Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness and Attachment Theory and others to help focus on depression, anxiety, grief, post-traumatic stress, adjustment concerns, relational challenges and substance abuse among other issues. I collaborate with the client to develop a unique plan to fit your individual needs and devote time for feedback and adjustments to accommodate growth and change.

Building rapport and trust is essential to the therapeutic process and I maintain a nonjudgmental, accepting and supportive environment in order to allow openness and honesty throughout the restorative process. Negative experiences allow opportunity for growth and insight and what is often considered “broken” is essentially letting light pierce the darkness and a chance to restore peace and hope.
